Arjun Trivedi .... "The Aj dude!"

The central character of the story is Arjun aka “AJ” and the story is his narration! The best part of the story according to me would be his point of view and his comments on every incident or dialogue that appears in the story- this makes the story unique in it’s expression and the way of its representation. He’s a dashing, vibrant, impulsive young and warm blooded homo-sapien, leaves a deep impact behind him. Linkin Park are next to the National anthem and the National song for him; Gives a clear picture of youth of modern India; Angry, arrogant (at times), Egoistic, restless but helpless.Life’s a easy task and being ‘the best’ in everything you do is an inborn Style. Abilities- surely present, to the point of being called as talent, showing off when really required. ‘Proove yourself’- is the only moto that adds passion to life and ‘No rules and Regulations’ to be followed for living life – ‘Do whatever you feel is Justified!’. Has a reason to do things with crystal clear thoughts. He’s been a silent observer of the games that fate plays on him but never runs away from facing life boldly and fights dauntlessly. Lost his mom at a very young age but never forgot her teachings and her high morals. Completed the rest of schooling form the boarding school in the suburbs of Hyderabad, but never missed Mom, as she was always around him, as she promised. Dad was the only dear and lovingly person under the sun, till he entered college. Next to dad, the only kind of people around that can complete a sentence called ‘life’ are friends. And not two, three or a few, everyone around wants a friend like him and all of them are more than welcome and cherished. Very happy and easy going person from outside but deep inside him exits a loneliness, an empty space, that does not really searches for someone but always awaits for ‘the one’, rather say the right one to come and permanently owe that place! Impressing girls- no big deal when smartness emerges out of self confidence!MEET MY PROTAGONIST ARJUN TRIVEDI!!!

"MANAGEMENT" - an Art or a Science????

Flowing with the waves is called art. Art is an outcome of creativity. Art does something and understanding or explaining the art is Science. Science has laws and theorems. It works on facts. Nature is an art and explaining and understanding nature is Science. Nature however was formed before the birth of Science. Science keeps an account of the occurrences in the nature or any system and then based on this data, it tries to predict “what next”. If it succeeds in predicting the right thing, then the assumptions are put together to form a hypothesis. A proved hypothesis is theorem and an unquestioned and undoubted theory is LAW. Science generalizes everything and what does not fall in the range if generalization is an ‘exception’. As a matter of fact, nature does not works on the basis of facts and generalizations. Inability of human brain to analyse raw data and accept things is what leads to fact-formation. ‘Science’ is taming nature and art; and molding it in a way that an ordinary human brain can grasp. Science is the inability of mankind to accept and create art by itself.

A study of the system that already existed, lead to the birth of Management Sciences. People just did things out of creativity and that was art. Understanding the way they did it and how they did it lead to generation of some generalizations and facts. Inability of ‘creativity-lacking’ man to perform tasks by himself, made him study how others did it. And such community of learning men hid their inability under the pretext of a label they called as Science. (which is a Greek word Scientia – means ‘To know’) The successful attempts of getting a job done were accounted together to form generalizations and a subject was born – ‘Management!’ The unable beginners learn it in the form that it is, that is, definitions, facts, generalizations, theories and laws. At a higher level, they undertake the study of a successful case and this is called as Research.

The artistic people could not think and analyze big enough and so science overtook them and today Science rules. Hence, now the trend is to learn and then to apply what is learnt, leaving no space for the dwelling of art and creativity. For instance, even the musical instruments are now, first learned to be played by the rules and this phase is Science. When the learnt man plays the instrument beyond the rules and boundaries, applying the rules through which he learnt the instrument, is called as an ‘art’. Coming to management, what Dhirubhai Ambani and Lalu Prasad Yadav did was art. Learning what they did and how they made it happen, as is done in the management Colleges, is Science. Learning from this science and applying it in one’s own way or a way that’s sheer outcome of creativity- is ‘ART’!

MANAGEMENT IS A SCIENCE IN THE LEARNING PHASE AND IT IS AN ART IN THE EXECUTTION OR APPLYING PHASE.
Learning is a Science and applying it is an art!

Expressionzzzzzzzzz....

I always speculated why is expressing everything in words so much important for everyone! Couldn’t actions speak louder than words for at least once and be understood or why couldn’t emotions be felt, do they always have to be tangible for proving their mere existence??
I always wondered that when I was a baby, I couldn’t speak (like every baby, hah, What’s new in that) and most of the people around me, even the once who took me in their laps for the first time, also understood me very clearly- when I was crying , when I was in the mood to play, when was I hungry, when I wanted my Mom, when I wanted my dad when I wanted both Of them and every possible emotion that could have existed in my heart or my speechless expressions. My expression for liking someone, My strong expression for disliking someone when I used to cry for food , when I used to cry for water when I used to cry as an alarm for attending nature’s very urgent call and could not unzip myself and needed someone’s help before I couldn’t hold it anymore( I wonder if someone ever helped me in the right time for this particular matter- coz it was always understood after timeout session – hmm, the only tangible expression I ever gave this world after loosing control over it). Every damn thing used to be understood without words. But, now when I am able to talk, I can convey my expression in words (at least a bunch full of them); I am never understood. And even if understood, has happened so in a wrong sense and never given a chance to tell them I never meant it that way! And guess this is the case with most of the people around me.

People say one thing .. the meaning seems to be something else .. people understand something else out of it .. and the consequences are completely else.. a complete mayhem .. disaster. I wonder how animals and organisms without vocal cords are able to convey their messages to their parents their loved ones and friends. Imagine the tiger conversating with it’s prey, what would they exchange --- something like “ROOOOOOOOAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRoooooWw” Hey how aye doin huh I am goanna have you for dinner tonight, Hope you done mind and would co-operate with me (if the tiger is a gentle man)
And the goat would be like “No please not today I am not in the mood more over I have spent so much of money for my new fur style, you will spoil it with your paws. Mom has cooked some thing delicious for tonight and I don’t really wanna miss that mmemmemmemmemmemmemmmmeeeee!!!”

And what if the tiger is a raudy road side, loafer kinda guy, he would go as “ you **** **** **** ***** I am gonna F***** **** **** ** your mom @#$%^ @#$%^ &*^% #$$ “ etc. etc. Hah

Lucky animals and even plants, because at least a pollen grain from a different plant would have never went ahead and asked the ‘stem-papa’ or the ‘root-mama’ or the ‘leaf-cousins’ or the ‘fruit-nephews’ before pollinating or fertilizing their girl “daughter/sister/auntie- the beautiful-flower’ of the joint family! How do people have a tendency to follow them (flowers) symbolizing love without thinking all this!

Don’t get me wrong, I complete agree with the fact that expressions need expression, ‘No objections on that your ‘onour!’; but what I don’t understand why only words to express them! I mean even a dumb computer can work after been given instructions and expression in the language that it understands. How Homo sapiens are different then and how are we superior to all other organisms’ species living in this era.

VERbaLizing Expression' REquiRed???????

Tell me one thing, what was the language used by Adam or tell me what was the quote that Adam used as “the pickin’-up line” before asking Eve for a date! They never needed one because they knew that they were meant for each other. I know some of you might say that there was God to guide them and tell them what was right or not and what they are supposed to do and what no! But tell me one thing honestly- isn’t the same god there with us to guide us and tell us all such things. Why do we disregard his voice which is present inside every one of us! Believe me an expression is always expressed louder and clearer without words. We just need to understand it by giving it more contemplation!!!
Why can’t we understand the unspoken emotion or the unspoken affection? Are we so dumb? People who speak out everything they feel and express their every feeling efficiently in words – are they always understood completely and if understood, are they even trusted to be completely true as well. Now tell me one thing how would you know if what ever they say is true or not and if not completely true then how much and what part of it is true and to what extent and under what all circumstances and conditions will the truth remain true. What if the truth of a verbally expressed expression comes with a expiry date as in the case of the various marketed pharmaceutical and cosmetic products – tested by accelerated kinetics method (– in short they fore perceive the future of the drug).

What if the expression conception-ed with the foetus of vocabulary carries “Terms and conditions applied”-subtitle!

Whether you agree with me or not but somewhere down the line there is something that is always expressed without words and all of us are capable of efficiently grasping it, but what makes us to behave ‘completely unaware’- is the fact that we are not sure about whatever we are grasping is true or not, we are not sure of ourselves! And this is the place where ‘Words’ come to play their role. They have gradually over-ruled the importance of inner feelings and caused complete attenuation of our own innate efficiency of grasping expressions.
